Choosing educational games for your child
Advice on choosing the ideal educational games
Have you ever been looking for the perfect toys or games that educate your child as well as being fun? Most people can appreciate that this isn't always the easiest task, but it can help when you keep the following facts in mind:- You know your child best, so you should have a fair idea of what they enjoy and what they don't. For example, maybe they prefer very active games, or more passive games.
- Be aware of the age recommendations on the game. It shouldn't be too easy or too difficult.
- Also be aware of what your child already knows- for example, if they're already very proficient at naming animals, then there's no need to buy a game that involves this.
- For younger children, try out games with bigger pieces like packs of large dominoes- this makes playing a lot easier.
- Once you've chosen a game, never be afraid to make adjustments in the game to make sure your child is getting the best experience from it. There's nothing wrong with adjusting the rules or adding colours in maths games to make it a little easier for those who are struggling.
We sell a great range of educational toys and games here at Kid and You, for toddlers through to older children learning about science for example.
