Above: KID as we are now! Above: The Original KID Shop			KID-ONLINE was established in 2005 and is the online shop for the ’real’ shop KID (est. 2001) based in Gosforth, a lovely suburb of Newcastle upon Tyne just 10 minutes from the city centre. We currently hold over 3000 toys and gifts for babies, toddlers and children up to about age 10. We also have a wide range of goodies for everyone from teenagers to mums and dads. KID started life in the Summer of 2000 as an online shop. Back then we sold mainly baby items and some toys. It was originally called ’Parentshop’ and was attached to the website www.ukparents.co.uk which was founded by Kid’s owner Helen. The website grew to become the largest for the UK closing in 2001. In early 2001 KID was born becoming a high street reality for the first time and opening in a cute little shop at the top of Gosforth High Street. (left) Above: KID in the Metro Centre In May 2003, Kid expanded into larger premises at The MetroCentre, Gateshead. We opened two further shops - BABE, a baby and nursery boutique and CANDI, a funky accessories and gift shop for teenage girls. A third shop HALO, a gift and accessories shop for ladies opened in another Newcastle suburb, Jesmond. In September 2005 we closed everything down and returned to Gosforth High Street concentrating only on the baby and children’s lines and established KID-ONLINE to incorporate not only the children’s items but also the ladies’, teens’ and men’s gifts.

			The current team at KID are Helen (owner), Alison (Manger) and Janine (Sales Assistant). KID is operated and run by TLM Ltd which is owned by Helen Humphrey.
